Smokey’s Trip to the Frozen North (Indiana)

Smokey writing again. Hope no one minds but I just have sooo much to say. Mom and Dad took us (my sis Buttons and me) to Indiana for Christmas and it was so cold we wound up pooping on the floor to avoid having to go outside! I don’t think Mom or Dad liked it that well (especially when Dad stepped in some with his bare feet–OOPS!) but they weren’t crazy about going out either. It was almost better to clean it up inside a (somewhat) warm apartment than to take us out into the cold and ice.

Our little doggy feet slid all over on the ice which was everywhere, even in the grass. I guess it’s grass, you couldn’t tell for sure! That electric stuff was out for a long time so we got to go to our people sister’s house where it was warm. It was still cold outside though but we managed to not poop on her floor! I thought that was very considerate of us.

We got to sleep on the bed with Mom and Dad that night too. Trouble is it’s not a very big bed so we were really kind of scrunched. But it was warm! Which was a GOOD thing.

Can you believe it, another night it actually thundered so I got to sleep with them that night too (hee hee). Buttons doesn’t mind thunder I guess but it scares the daylights out of me so I scratched at the door of my bedcage and Mom let me come sleep with them. She doesn’t like for me to be scared.

I hope Mom will let me write more about our trip. Maybe Buttons will have something to say too. I’ll ask her.
