Well I’m happy to say we survived Thanksgiving AND Black Friday! The Husband didn’t even watch much football on Thanksgiving. I guess his team wasn’t on anywhere. We had the day to ourselves so I cooked a bit, much more than I really wanted to but it seemed like something I was obligated to do.

Friday we stayed home, away from all the rush at the mall and everywhere else. No one has really given us much info as to what they want for Christmas so I didn’t feel it was necessary to go out at 4 o’clock in the morning looking for something I didn’t know I was looking for. I do need a DVD player for one grandkiddo but I can probably get a good price on that at Wally World. And I definitely didn’t want to go in there on Black Friday. It’s enough of a madhouse on an off day, I can’t begin to think what it would have been like at 5 a.m. on the day after Thanksgiving. In fact, I wouldn’t want to think what it would have been like. It’s enough to raise your blood pressure!

Anyway, I do need to get a Christmas stocking for our doggy Smokey. The other doggy Buttons already has one but I guess we didn’t get their stockings out last year so I didn’t realize Smokey still needed one. But now that I know I’ll have to get him one and then write his name on it with glitter like the other Buttons’ is. Put his name in lights, so to speak.

We did put up some Christmas lights on Friday and I have the tree all done. It’s one of those cuties with the lights already attached so you just set it up, slap on a few of your own ornaments, plus I love those dangly foil icicles so I threw some of them on there too and it looks OK except for the caved-in look it has on one side where the branches just don’t quite fit together right. But hey, we all look kind of caved in now and then so who cares, right?
