No, Turking has nothing to do with a Thanksgiving turkey! Here’s what it really is:
The Mturk site is a place to go where you can make some money. The people who work there are called Turkers. This would be you!
Other people, known as Requesters, put up HITS which are little jobs you can accept and do. This could be you too if you have some work you want done!
Work as much or as little as you want and you choose what you want to work on.
There are jobs to do including writing various things, transcribing dictated audio files that you download to your computer to work on, answering questions, posting things to your blog or website, and tons of other stuff.
The money you’ll earn varies quite a bit. Some things are only worth a penny or two while others may be $5 or even $10. The penny ones usually only take a minute or so to do while the others take longer. Once again, it just depends on the type of work you want to perform.
The address is www.mturk.com. It’s totally free for workers to sign up and use. If you’re already a member of Amazon.com, you can even use that ID and password and avoid re-registering.
Check it out. You won’t get rich but it adds up after awhile.
